M4+H5 (HEJ 2024 July jam)

M4+H5 (or "MATHS") is a very simple puzzle game with addition, subtraction and multiplication. Can you tell if we've struggled with naming again?

Although the themes for the HEJ 2024 July jam sounded quite good (based on a movie, 1D+2D+3D, festival), we somehow didn't feel any of them and a few days before the deadline I reached into the idea drawer (mostly Google Keep) and dug out this little number (sorry): a simple maths puzzle, in which the player has to connect numbered tiles to come up with sums (by addition, substraction multiplication) for specified, definitely existing target numbers.

It's a bit of a stretch, but we figured that by making the level layout customizable (allowing one and two dimensional levels) and adding a fake 3D look would cut it... it's not great, but technically fits the 1D+2D+3D theme.

The game plays okay on desktop and mobile as well. If you like this sort of thing, you can try it on Itch or on Lasermagnet.com, where it's also quite easy to "install" the game on your home screen using Chrome on Android or Safari on Apple devices.
